General class

Description
General classes are suitable for those who have completed the Beginners course or have completed a corresponding level of learning offered by any of the Sivananda organizations world wide.

It's purpose is to help students establish a strong foundation in Sivananda yoga. It focuses on extended holding and mastering of the 12 basic postures. General class is appropriate for students who are not yet ready for the intermediate level, but still want to maintain their practice. No new postures or techniques are introduced during these classes.

The General class is not set into any course block. Students may attend as many classes as they like.

  • Bhujangasana (Cobra)
  • Salabhasana (Locust)
  • Dhanurasana (Bow)
  • Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half spinal twist)

  • Pada Hastasana (Standing forward bend)
  • Trikonasana (Triangle)
Savasana (relaxation)
  • Guided relaxation consisting of three parts - physical, mental and spiritual relaxation
